Technology Support for the Newest Versions of GEMS

Updated over a month ago

As GEMS continues to evolve, it is important to update our clients on the latest supported technology requirements. Your awareness and adherence to any upcoming changes help to ensure that the application performs at expected levels and allow us to continue the development of new and improved features in GEMS.

As part of the next major releases of GEMS, CGS will be implementing changes to our supported technology requirements. This will happen in phases and is being done primarily for the following reasons:

  • To allow for optimal functionality and performance of GEMS

  • To align with many underlying technologies that have changed recently

  • Supporting older technology is expensive and takes away our bandwidth to deliver new features and support new technology.

In the following sections of this article, we have set out both the client and server-side changes being implemented in these releases along with information on whether your supporting hardware and software are or will be suitable for use.

Clients must ensure these changes are taken into account when planning and scheduling their upgrades to these upcoming versions of GEMS.

We currently target releases every 4 months on average and as standard, we support all GEMS versions released within the past 12 months.
