Explore Different Chart Directions

Updated over 6 months ago

When you create a chart, you'll select a specific entity that the chart will start from. This entity is called the Chart Business Entity or Chart Company.

Your chart will then start from the Chart Business Entity and draw ownership lines in one of three directions: Subsidiary, Parent, and Parent and Subsidiary.

Look at the CL Support Inc. charts in the images below to see examples of the three different directions.

A Subsidiary chart places the Chart Business Entity/Company at the top of the chart then draws paths down to its subsidiaries.

A Parent chart places the Chart Business Entity/Company at the bottom of the chart then draws paths up to its parent companies.

A Parent and Subsidiary chart places the Chart Business Entity/Company on a central level in the chart and draws paths both up its parents and down to its subsidiaries.
