Adjust a Chart’s Layout

Updated over 6 months ago

After creating or opening a chart, you can change its Layout through the Layouts icon on the left toolbar. In the example below, we'll change the Layout of a Subsidiary chart for the entity Global Solutions Inc. from its default Merged Lines Layout to a Matrix Layout.

Example of a chart for Global Solutions Inc. with its default Merged Lines Layout:

1. Navigate to your chart and select the Layout icon on the left toolbar.

2. Select your desired Layout. In this example, we will select Matrix

3. If you selected the Matrix Layout, the Matrix Styles dropdown lets you select different arrangements for your subsidiary boxes. In our example, we selected Matrix in step 2 so we do see the Matrix Styles option, and we'll keep it at Balanced.

4. After selecting a Layout, GEMS automatically redraws the chart. Close the Layout panel to view the chart's new Layout.

Compare the Matrix Layout we applied to the original Merged Lines Layout by reviewing the two images below. Click to enlarge images.
