After opening an entity record, the entity's data can be found on its Screens and its Snapshot.
View entity data on Screens
Screens are subdivisions of the entity record that categorize and hold the actual data values for an entity. For example, an entity’s address data is stored and found in the entity’s Addresses Screen.
In this scenario, we want to review the appointment record for CL Support Inc.’s Company Secretary, Lela Fairbanks.
1. Search for and select an entity record. In this example, we’ve opened CL Support Inc.
2. Locate and click VIEW MORE DETAILS.
3. The Navigation Menu appears with a list of all Screens for that entity. Select the Screen you wish to open. In this example, we’ll select Appointments.
4. The Screen will appear with data in the Search Results pane. To view the full record for a specific data entry, click the Properties icon at the end of the data row. In this example, we’ll open the record for Lela Fairbanks, the Company Secretary.
5. The record opens in a new page.
If you opened the Basics or Formation Screen you will not see a Search Results section. Instead, these Screens will display data grouped into sections with unique headings.
View entity data on the Snapshot
When you select an entity record to open, you’re taken to that entity’s Snapshot.
The Snapshot consists of panels. Each panel corresponds to a particular Screen and displays select data from that Screen. The records can then be opened directly from the panel.
In this scenario, we want to find the appointment record for Abby Smyth, a director for the entity CL Support Inc., so we can get the date of her last election.
1. Search for and select an entity record. In this example, we’ve opened CL Support Inc.
2. The Snapshot for the entity opens as soon as you open the record. Scroll up and down the Snapshot until you find the panel you’re looking for. In this example, we’ll scroll down until we find the Appointments panel.
3. To open the record for a specific data entry within a panel, click the More Options icon in the data row, then select Open. In this example, we’ll open the record for Abby Smyth, a Director.
4. The record opens in a new panel. Scroll up and down to find the data you’re looking for. In this example, we’ll locate the Date of Last Election field.
The More Options icon for individual records in a panel is not available on all panels, depending on the nature of the data displayed.
View historical entity data on a Snapshot
By default, Snapshot panels display records that are active as of the current date. However, the panels can display historical data via the Date As Of (Date As At) feature. This can be useful when you wish to see what an entity’s data, such as its appointments or addresses, would have looked like on a certain date in the past.
In this scenario, we want to find an older address for the entity CL Support Inc. before they relocated in March 2006.
1. Search for and open an entity record. In this example, we’ll open CL Support Inc. and scroll to its Addresses panel.
2. Enter a past date in the Date As Of (Date As At) field in the top right, then click the Refresh icon. In this example, we'll enter Jan 01 2006.
3. All Snapshot panels now display the records that were active as of the date you entered. In this example, the Addresses panel is now displaying the previous address that was current on January 1st, 2006.
