You will need to input your Presenter Identifier and Presenter Authentication Code into GEMS as part of your preparation to begin filing successfully.
Apply UK Business Rules in GEMS
Before updating the Presenter details United Kingdom business rules must be selected in GEMS.
1. From the Homepage click the Jurisdiction drop down in the top right corner and select United Kingdom.
2. The chosen Jurisdiction should now display United Kingdom.
Set up a Presenter in GEMS
1. From the Hub Toolbar, click Admin and select GEMS Settings> System Management.
2. Click on Electronic Filing> Presenters in the left-hand menu.
3. Click New Presenters.
4. The Presenters window will appear. See the table below the image for details on how to complete each field.
Name and Email | Enter the Name and Email of the person who will act as the presenter. This must be the same name and email address registered at Companies House. |
Jurisdiction | The jurisdiction of the presenter must match the jurisdiction of the companies for which the person is the presenter, for example, if the presenter jurisdiction is 'England', they will be able to file electronically only for companies whose jurisdiction is 'England'; they will not be able to file for companies whose jurisdiction is 'England & Wales', 'Scotland', 'Northern Ireland', etc. |
Identifier/Electronic Signature String & Authentication Pin | Enter the Presenter Identifier provided by Companies House in the Identifier/ Electronic Signature String field and the Presenter Authentication Code in the Authentication/PlN' field. |
Reference | Remove the first two and last two zeroes from the Account Number provided by Companies House and then enter the remaining six digits in the Reference field. For example, the account number 00503010000 would be 503010 in the Reference field in GEMS. |
Assign to User(s) | If the presenter is set up as a GEMS user, use the search icon to select the user and populate it in the Assign to User(s) field. You can select more than one user. However, if there is only one Presenter set up then no action is required in this field. |
Default | If this presenter should be used by default for electronic filing in this jurisdiction, select the Default checkbox. Click the Save button to save the presenter details to the database. |
5. When finished entering the information required, click SAVE. You will now be able to see the new Presenter in the search results.
