Introduction
Computershare is committed to advancing GEMS AI as a helpful partner in your entity management workflow, and our new GEMS AI feature AI Analyze is one example of just that. AI Analyze helps you uncover risks and spot inconsistencies in your data, allowing you to improve your data's accuracy, understand your risks, and enhance your entity compliance capabilities.
AI Analyze works by leveraging a "reasoning" large language model (LLM), which features more powerful thinking capabilities than a standard LLM, to analyze search results in GEMS.
Please note: Analyses generated by GEMS AI may not be 100% accurate. Always verify the contents of a GEMS AI analysis yourself or with another person.
Analyze entity data with GEMS AI Analyze
In this scenario, we'd like to analyze our entities in the United Kingdom and find out:
if there are any current compliance risks involving the entities' appointment and address records;
if we need to update any data to comply with the 2023 Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act (ECCTA);
and if there are any gaps or inconsistencies in the existing data, such as blank fields that need to be completed or fields which contradict others.
To accomplish these tasks, we need to access the GEMS AI Analyze feature within the appropriate search results, then instruct GEMS AI on what we'd like it to look for.
Access GEMS AI Analyze
To analyze data, we must first open the GEMS AI Analyze tool after returning the relevant data.
1. Return the relevant entities and data via an AI Entity Search, a Saved Search or a new Advanced Search. For assistance with the Advanced Search tool, see this article.
In this scenario, we have built an Advanced Search to return our United Kingdom entities along with their current appointment and address records.
2. Click the GEMS AI icon to open the GEMS AI Assistant.
3. Select Analyze Search Results to open a new GEMS AI Assistant panel dedicated to analyzing your data.
4. Confirm that the text box at the top of GEMS AI Assistant panel begins with GEMS AI is now ready to assist you with your dataset.
Tip: If you want to analyze just one entity, GEMS AI Analyze can also be accessed from entity Snapshots via the same GEMS AI icon seen in step 2.
Identify compliance risks
GEMS AI Analyze is capable of looking at the jurisdictions of your entities and identifying any compliance risks those entities might face.
In this scenario, we'd like GEMS AI Analyze to help us identify compliance risks involving our entities in the United Kingdom and their appointments and addresses. To do this, we need to access GEMS AI Analyze and then enter an appropriate prompt.
1. Return the relevant data and access the GEMS AI Analyze tool, as described in Access AI Analyze. In this scenario, we've returned data on our United Kingdom entities, including their appointments and addresses, and then opened AI Analyze.
2. Type a directive in the text box at the bottom of the GEMS AI Assistant panel, then click the Send icon. In this scenario, we'll type Analyze my compliance data in the United Kingdom and flag any risks I should review today, but you may phrase your prompt in your own words so long as the language is natural and comprehensible.
3. Review the response generated by GEMS AI Analyze and ask any further questions by repeating step 2. In this scenario, we see that GEMS AI Analyze has identified many missing service addresses and directors at risk of overboarding, enabling us to address these compliance risks.
Address regulatory changes
As new regulatory changes take effect, GEMS AI Analyze can help you proactively identify any gaps in your data introduced by new laws.
In this scenario, we want to know if the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act passed in the United Kingdom will require us to make updates to our UK entities in GEMS.
1. Return the relevant data and access the GEMS AI Analyze tool, as described in Access AI Analyze. In this scenario, we've returned data on our United Kingdom entities and then opened GEMS AI Analyze.
2. Type a directive in the text box at the bottom of the GEMS AI Assistant panel, then click the Send icon. In this scenario, we'll type Analyze our entities in the United Kingdom and identify risks or gaps introduced by the ECCTA, but you may phrase your prompt in your own words so long as the language is natural and comprehensible.
3. Review the response generated by GEMS AI Analyze and ask any further questions by repeating step 2. In this scenario, we see that GEMS AI Analyze has identified areas of our records that might not meet ECCTA standards and provided next steps.
Find data inconsistencies
When you're in need of auditing your own GEMS data and addressing gaps or inconsistencies, GEMS AI Analyze can quickly point you to discrepancies.
In this scenario, we want to know if any of our UK entities have blank or contradictory data fields within their appointment and address records.
1. Return the relevant data and access the GEMS AI Analyze tool, as described in Access AI Analyze. In this scenario, we've returned data on our United Kingdom entities, including their appointments and addresses, and then opened GEMS AI Analyze.
2. Type a directive in the text box at the bottom of the GEMS AI panel, then click the Send icon. In this scenario, we'll type Analyze my UK entities and flag any data gaps or inconsistencies, but you may phrase your prompt in your own words so long as the language is natural and comprehensible.
3. Review the response generated by GEMS AI Analyze and ask any further questions by repeating step 2. In this scenario, we see that GEMS AI Analyze identified which entities were missing addresses within GEMS, allowing us to take the next step of updating those records.
