Create a new GEMS AI Insights Agent

Learn how to make and add your own Insights Agents

Updated over a month ago

GEMS AI Insights Agents are intelligent assistants that provide in-depth analyses of your entities within seconds.

In addition to running existing Insights Agents, Edit Users can create their own Agents based on instructions tailored to their organization's needs. After an Insights Agent is created, it can be run at any point in the future by all users within the database.

In this scenario, our organization runs quarterly reviews of all appointment data for our Business Entities (Companies). During these reviews, we look for any appointments that were added to entity records without any Date First Elected values so we can ensure those dates are then entered.

An Insights Agent can look through a Saved Search containing appointment data and find those missing dates for us. Such an Insights Agent does not yet exist on our database, so we will create one ourselves.

1. Ensure that you have a Saved Search that returns the fields you'd like analyzed if you are creating an Insights Agent that looks at Search data. If you are creating an Agent that looks at Snapshot data, skip this step.

In this scenario, we will create an Agent that looks at Search data, and our database has a Business Entity-type Saved Search called Business Entities with all appointments.

2. From anywhere in GEMS, locate and select the GEMS AI icon.

3. Click the Agents icon within the GEMS AI Assistant panel.

4. Select Create Agent.

5. Enter a name for your Insights Agent in the Agent name field. In this scenario, we'll enter Missing first election dates.

6. Enter a description of your Insights Agent in the Description field. In this scenario, we'll enter Analyzes Business Entity appointment data and locates missing Date Appointed values.

7. Provide instructions for the Insights Agent in the Instructions field. These instructions should clearly state what actions the Insights Agent should perform.

In this scenario, we'll enter Identify appointment records which have no value in the Date First Elected field.

8. Select either Snapshot or Search underneath Agent type, depending on the type of data you want the Insights Agent to analyze. In this scenario, we want the Agent to analyze Saved Search results, so we will select Search.

9. Select the type of Saved Search the Insights Agent will analyze in the Search type drop-down if you selected Search in step 8. Skip this step and proceed to step 11 if you selected Snapshot in step 8.

In this scenario, we selected Search in step 8, and the Saved Search we want to use is a Business Entity type, so we will select Business Entity.

10. Select the Saved Search you identified in step 1 in the Saved Search drop-down. In this scenario, we will select the Saved Search Business Entities with all appointments.

11. Click Save.

Tip: You can also save prompts that you've entered while working with GEMS AI Analyze as new Insights Agents. Just click the Save icon underneath a GEMS AI Analyze response, then follow steps 5 through 11 above.
