Introduction
Entity records created in error can be deleted.
Deleting an entity record is a permanent, irreversible action. You should consider performing a deletion only if the entity was created in error.
Delete a Business Entity
If a Business Entity is no longer active or required for business use, consider archiving the entity. When you archive an entity:
You continue to have access to the data associated with that Business Entity.
That Business Entity's license will be released and available for use.
In this scenario, we discovered the Business Entity, Brightwell Canada Corp. was erroneously added to GEMS twice, resulting in a duplicate record. Therefore, we will delete the duplicate record.
Navigate to the Entity Snapshot and open the Basics Screen.
Locate and click DELETE.
3. Review the You have chosen to delete this Business Entity details message
displayed on screen.
4. Locate and tick the box to the right of Delete this Business Entity and all related records.
5. Locate and tick the box to the left of Delete Business Entity details.
6. Click Submit.
The Business Entity will be deleted and no longer available in GEMS.
Delete a Person Entity
If a Person Entity is no longer required for business use, consider updating the Person Entity's status.
In this scenario, we discovered the Person Entity of James Wright was erroneously added to GEMS twice, resulting in a duplicate record. Therefore, we will delete the duplicate record.
Navigate to the Person Snapshot and open the Basics Screen.
Locate and click Delete.
3. Review the You have chosen to delete this Person Entity details message displayed on screen.
4. Locate and tick the box to the left of Delete Person details.
5. Click Submit.
The Person Entity will be deleted and no longer available in GEMS.
Delete a Non-Affiliated Entity
If an Non-Affiliated Entity is no longer required for business use, consider updating the Non-Affiliate Entity's status.
In this scenario, we discovered the Non-Affiliated Entity, Wright Appraisals LLC. was erroneously added to GEMS twice, resulting in a duplicate record. Therefore, we will delete the duplicate record.
Navigate to the Non-Affiliated Entity Snapshot and open the Basics Screen.
Locate and click Delete.
3. Review the You have chosen to delete this Non-Affiliate details message displayed on screen.
4. Locate and tick the box to the left of Delete Non-Affiliate details.
5. Click Submit.
The Non-Affiliate Entity will be deleted and no longer available in GEMS.
