Unlock a locked user account (Admin only)

Introduction

If a user enters the wrong password too many times when logging in to GEMS, their account will become locked.

A locked user can reset their password to restore access to their account, but GEMS Administrators can also unlock the account for the user, allowing the user to keep their original password.

Unlock a locked user account

In this scenario, user Charlie Lyon has locked himself out of GEMS after typing his password incorrectly too many times. Charlie does not want to reset his password, so he has asked us (an Administrator) to unlock his account instead.

1. From the Hub Toolbar, navigate to Admin> GEMS Administration> User Management.

2. The User Search page opens. Locate and select the relevant username. In this scenario, we'll select CharlieLyon.

3. The Basics page opens for the user. Click EDIT.

4. Untick the Account Locked checkbox, then click SAVE.

The user can now log in with their original password.
