Release Notes 11.2

Updated over a year ago

Introduction

This document contains a list of the new features and modifications included in this update to GEMS. Features are grouped according to the jurisdiction they apply to.

Jurisdiction: All

Compliance Tracker

New: Enhanced Filtering on the Compliance Tracker screen

To enhance the filtering capability within the Compliance Tracker, a Filters button has been added. The subsequent Filters dropdown panel allows users to leverage both “Contains,” “Is Equal To,” and, if the column being filtered is a date column, “Is In Range” filter conditions. Users can now also add multiple filters from this new panel.

Update: Activity, Due Date, Status, and % Complete columns now sortable

To allow for greater customization of the Compliance Tracker, the Activity, Due Date, Status, and % Complete columns can now be sorted alphabetically, chronologically, or numerically by clicking on the column heading.

Update: “Activity ID” and “To-Do Item ID” Screen Fields added to Activity searches

When searching for Activities, users can now search on the “Activity ID” and “To-Do Item ID” Screen Fields, allowing for more options when searching. The “Activity ID” Screen Field can be found under the “Activity” Screen, and the “To-Do Item ID” Screen Field can be found under the “To-Do Items” Screen when searching for an Activity.

Update: Launching and Adding an Activity from a Snapshot

To make actioning Activities from a Snapshot quicker, rather than directing users to the Activities Hub, a dedicated modal for an Activity now launches when users click an Activity from within a Snapshot.

Charting

Update: GEMS Charting (Preview) Tool is now the default Charting Tool

As we move closer to the full release of the new Charting tool in GEMS, the GEMS Charting (Preview) has now been made the default option for the “Charting Tool” field when creating a Chart.

New: Charts can be exported in a Booklet format

To allow users to export a Chart and its related Sub Charts, Charts can now be exported as Booklets in .docx format via the Export icon. Pre-built Booklet templates are available, and new templates can be added—see the GEMS Charting (Preview) Tutorial for more information.

New: Legend creation now available

So that users can communicate custom formatting applied to Charts with others, Legends can now be created via the Sub Charts hub. For more information on creating Legends, see the GEMS Charting (Preview) Tutorial.

New: Data hub added to Charting Toolbar

To bring consistency to the experience when working with the new GEMS Charting (Preview), a Data hub has been added to the Charting Toolbar that opens the Data panel for a box on the left-hand side of the Chart. Clicking on a box within the chart also opens this Data panel on the left-hand side.

New: Box fields may be hidden via Data panel while in Edit Mode

To streamline Chart customization and allow specific data sets to be focused on in Charts, the fields that are displayed within boxes can now be hidden (and shown again) from the Data panel, accessed via the new Data icon or by clicking on a box or boxes within the Chart while in Edit Mode.

Please note: The fields available to be hidden are the fields used in the Saved Search selected when creating the Chart.

New: Box fields can now be hidden as part of a Conditional Formatting Rule

To allow for greater customization when creating conditional formatting rules, box fields can now be hidden as part of a rule under the new Box Data section.

Update: Clone icon for Conditional Formatting Rules moved to Rules list

To streamline the cloning process for Conditional Formatting Rules, the Clone icon has been moved to the Rules list.

Update: New Conditional Formatting Rule Wizard style setup

To create a more streamlined approach to rule setup, when creating a new Conditional Formatting Rule, the process has been incorporated into a Wizard step-by-step process for easy creation. Users will now be guided through

  1. Rules Details

  1. Box Data

  1. Box Formatting

Before being able to save a new rule.

Update: Conditional Formatting Rules’ Box Formatting options automatically enabled

To streamline the creation of Conditional Formatting Rules, when changing any of the Box Formatting options in the Conditional Formatting Rule creation process, the changed option will be automatically enabled.

Please note: Style changes can still be disabled by unchecking the checkbox to the left.

Update: Box Styles panel moved to Formatting panel

To bring consistency and clarity in interacting with Charts, the Box Styles panel for individual boxes has been moved to the Formatting panel, accessed by clicking the Formatting icon and then selecting a box within the Chart while in Edit Mode.

Update: “Date As Of”/”Date As At” field for a Saved Chart defaults to original value

To bring consistency to Saved Charts, when launching a Saved Chart, the value in the “Date As Of”/”Date As At” field will now default to the value set in the field when the Chart was originally saved.

Please note: If charts are required as of a different date, this field may still be changed, as necessary.

Update: Launching a Saved Chart does not immediately open a new browser window

When launching a Saved Chart, the parameters for the Chart are now available in the current GEMS browser window as opposed to a new browser window, bringing the launching process in line with the standard Chart creation process. A new browser window is not opened until the Saved Chart is launched.

New: Charting Toolbar icon descriptions added

To better enable users to understand the functionality of the various Charting Toolbar icons, descriptions of the Layout, Sub-Charts, Data, Formatting, and Filters panels have been added to the panel that opens when a user clicks one of the icons.

Dashboards

Update: Partial matches on filters are now available when searching within Dashboards

To allow for more flexible filters within Dashboard panels, data that partially matches the desired filter is now returned when a user places a filter on a column.

Please note: The column indicated under a Dashboard panel’s “Field to Group By” field will not return partial matches when a filter is applied, only exact matches.

Orders

New: Filterable “Active” and “Closed” views added to Managed Services Order Summary

So that users can more readily see which Orders they need to action, “Active” and “Closed” views have been added to the Order Summary screen.
