Make your own chart via the Create a Chart Tile

Updated over 6 months ago

All GEMS users by default can create their own organizational charts through the Create a Chart tile of the Charting Hub. This tile is easily accessed and simple to use, allowing GEMS users of any experience level to make charts that meet their needs.

1. From the Hub Toolbar, click Charting and select Create a Chart.

2. The Create a Chart page will open. Some fields will automatically populate with default values.

  • Chart Business Entity (Company) - Search and select the Business Entity/Company that the chart will begin from.

  • Nominated Holding Business Entity - The Entity upon which Nominated Holding Company % ownership will be calculated. For more information, see article Specify a Nominated Holding Business Entity (Company) in a chart.

  • Date As Of/Date As At - The date the chart will reflect. This value defaults to the current date.

  • Chart Direction - Whether the chart should draw the Chart Business Entity's Subsidiaries, Parents, or both Parents and Subsidiaries. This value defaults to Subsidiary.

  • Chart Template - A Template is a collection of rules regarding the conditional formatting, filters, sub-charts, and individual boxes’ Box Styles that can be applied to a chart. For more information on applying Templates, see Apply a Template to a Chart

  • Saved Search - For advanced GEMS users. The Saved Search can be modified to change which data fields will appear in the chart's boxes. We recommend leaving this field at its default value.

  • Launch Chart - Click this button after completing the mandatory fields to

open your chart in a new browser window.

3. Chart opens in a new browser window.
