Types of Share-Related Transactions

A quick introduction to the categories of share-related transactions.

Updated over 12 months ago

Introduction

In GEMS, the Securities Management section provides a powerful means for tracking share-related transactions. While recording security transactions in GEMS there are four broad categories into which most transactions will fall:

  1. Increasing Capital

  2. Decreasing Capital

  3. Transferring Capital

  4. Exchanging one Security for another

Certain fields in GEMS will adapt and change depending on the specific transaction which is chosen, but the type of data requested and the process for recording this data will be quite similar depending on the broad category it falls within.
