The Approvals process in GEMS requires GEMS users to be designated as Approvers for each Approval Workflow. Rather than assigning individual users to an Approver role, GEMS Administrators assign Approver status to Internal Contact groups.
To designate a GEMS user as an Approver for a particular Approval Workflow, follow these steps:
Assign the relevant GEMS user to the appropriate Internal Contact role using the Internal Contact Wizard or Search and Replace Wizard. For information on how to use these Wizards, see the linked articles.
Locate the Approval Workflow the Approver is needed for by clicking Admin > GEMS Administration > Approval Workflow Configuration.
Click the Menu icon next to the desired Approval Workflow, then click Edit.
Click the Next icon until the Approvers section appears.
Enter the Internal Contact group that will serve as Approvers in the "Approval Group" field.
Click Save & Close.
